Visual Rythym

I often feel connected to photography through music, as if I can "hear" the rhythm of a photograph. It makes me wonder if this is a form of synesthesia. Chromesthesia, for example, is when sounds trigger perceptions of color or shape, so maybe there's an inverse form where shape triggers a sense of sound or rhythm in the mind. It's an interesting thought experiment, though in this case it wasn't quite that literal. I didn't hear anything; I felt the rhythm and tones of the scene. Standing over this patch of cracked mud in Death Valley, the repeating shapes and deep shadows felt like a visual beat. The way the light caught the edges of the curled earth created a pattern that felt almost musical to me. I'm curious, has anyone else ever experienced this?
