Hollow Earth

You find these places by just wandering. This particular canyon in central Utah isn't on most maps, which is exactly why I was there. I ran my hand over the walls; they felt like ancient, porous bone. It's hard to comprehend the sheer force of water required to carve out these hollows and curves, one grain of sand at a time. The light was soft and indirect, falling into the depths and highlighting the endless, strange textures. I switched to black and white to really focus on that—the raw shape and shadow of the place, without the distraction of the typical desert reds and oranges.
