Gothic Mountain's Promise

The air was thick and heavy with the coming storm, and we were completely torn on where to go. Head for the high ground for a sunset view, or stay lower on the eastern slope and hope for a rainbow? We went back and forth, finally settling on this field, the smell of damp earth and wildflowers all around us. Just as we set up, the clouds cracked open. The sun hit Gothic Mountain with this intense, warm light, and then this double rainbow just exploded across the sky. It was one of those moments of pure luck, where all the indecision pays off in a way you could never have planned. The light was perfect, the colors were electric, and for a few minutes, everything was still.
