Ephemeral Shoreline
Death Valley National Park
People think of Death Valley as just this harsh, dry place, but if you're there at the right time, it completely transforms. We'd heard about the flooding rains and went exploring, not really sure what we'd find. Then we came across these pools. The late afternoon sun just skimmed across the top of these tiny, perfect dunes the water had carved, lighting up every single grain. The water itself was like dark glass, perfectly mirroring the sculpted edge. It was one of those quiet, unexpected moments that makes all the searching worthwhile.
